There's no way of looking at this tragedy that can make any sense of it. Clearly the young man was deeply disturbed, and there's no profit at this point in dwelling on "how things might have been different" unless it leads to concrete changes that might prevent similar disasters in the future. I see that the University is going to award the students who were killed posthumous degrees in their fields of study. I think that's a very nice gesture; with commencement only weeks away, it's hard to fathom what an emotional occasion it will be...so sad. ~D
