I love the cosmopolitan world of The Underground and in fact Le Metro. It does get busy and squashy pre theatre times. I found it very difficult when I moved from London to Stevenage - I felt people staring or watching what I was doing. Nobody takes much notice in London. I suppose I have developed People Watching Habit myself, though I used to think it was rude. Maybe there are stages - - going about your business in a world of your own - trying not to lose your children or catch the double buggy in the doors - wondering at the world and its inhabitants Information is so much better these days, especially at links like Cannon Street. Security too. Could you imagine yourself doing a Crocodile Dundee Walk above eveyone's heads to reach Linda Wotsit? Or busking even?
