GUEST,reggie miles 2007 memorial day folk music w/e (USA) (14) RE: 2007 memorial day folk music w/e (USA) 16 May 07

I'll be at the Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center grounds, where the Space Needle still stands, in downtown Seattle, WA. The dates are Friday, May 25 through Monday, May 28. There will also be concerts, workshops, dancing, jamming, and singing here but no camping as this is an inner city event.

There is no pool or jacuzzi on the grounds but it does feature a rather large and unusual fountain that many love to explore when the weather is warm as well as a wading pool for those who need a milder form of water exploration. No exercise rooms, ping pong tables, and tennis courts but just walking around the grounds will provide you with all of the cardio workout you'll need for the week. There are also plenty of good activities for non-musical partners, spouses, friends, kids etc. with the Eperience Music Project, SciFi museum, the Pacific Science Center, food booths and children's amusement park nearby.

I'll be performing there. Look for my performance on Saturday at 12:15pm at the Cafe Impromptu stage in the lobby of the newest venue on the grounds McCaw Hall. There's plenty of comfortable seating at this impressive indoor venue. I'll be bottleneck sliding my new & used blues on my homemade found object junk art Nobro resophonic guitar and other garage sale finds for your listening pleasure.

I'll be bending my saw blade too, demonstrating the eerie tones and subtle timbre of the unruly blade's capabilities and my uncanny ability to flex the hand tool's razor sharp spring steel betwixt two quivering knees to produce a prodigious pallet of pleasing panache. Yes, I'll risk life and limb by bending 213 terribly treacherous teeth dangerously close to body parts both near and dear while proudly providing a vicarious daredevil vaudevillian entertainment experience! (Those weak of spirit please bring smelling salts. Aid crews will be standing by at alert for the faint of heart!)

I will also be hosting my 5th Annual How To Play Music With A Hand Saw Workshop. With nearly 100 folks attending last year's free workshop it turn into a standing room only event. You may want to come early to reserve seating for your chance to learn how to unlock the secrets of coaxing beautiful music from your hand tools. Boys, girls drop their jaws for guys who play saws. Girls, all the boys go gaw gaw for girl playing saw! Saw ya there!

Interested? Go to http://www.nwfolklife.org/ there are lots of links to many the aspects and details of this 'free' event.
