Just got the great Vanguard compilation from the library. It says the great guitar solo on Friends is by Rick Turner. Don't know him, but it is good to hear the songs without the scratches on my old lp's. Whoever did the Vanguard recordings did a smart job of putting the voices on separate sides, so that I can reset the levels to hear the great harmonies they did. The newer cd's don't seem to take the same care with recording harmonies. Chris in Portland
