"Football" covers association, Gaelic, Rugby Union, Rugby League, American, Australian rules variants and all the others I haven't thought of. I'm prepared to acknowledge that what is now known as association football is the earliest, but it certainly ain't the only one. Call it 'Association football' or 'soccer' to distinguish it from the others. It's a fairies' game anyway, even more so than the threequarters in Rugby! Anyway, it's nice to see Spurs winning something for a change. Jimmy Greaves, Alan Mullery & co. used to be my heroes in the days before I discovered Rugby! Steve
