Paul, at what point did I suggest that it's a GOOD thing? You've lost me! Personally, as a punter, it wouldn't bother me if there were 20 festivals in North Yorkshire/Cleveland that weekend. It would have to be a GOOD festival to beat that line-up at Pickering. Can I remind you that this whole thread started because somebody suggested that Pickering shouldn't have put their festival on to clash with Saltburn. If it suits them, why the hell shouldn't they? Maybe it'll raise the bar for all festivals in the area. I've been going to Whitby for years and, as a concert-goer, it's become hugely disappointing. I think if you were to ask Graham Pirt and his Whitby team, I'm sure he'd love to sell a lot more season tickets. The problem is that there's little value in buying one I'm afraid. I'm happy just to hang out and take in the occasional gig.
