Dont know much on the west coast. But the Taybank Hotel in Dunkeld just off the A9 is always worth a visit or the Inn at Pitcairn Green just past Perth. The Taybank has a free festival on the first Saturday in Sept for singer songwriters. Stirling has a club as well. All out of your way a bit, but you could go up one road and down the other. The Clachaig Inn in Glencoe, and The Nevis Bar and in Fort William have good music on sometimes but no club.
