Yes indeed, a good time was had by all. I think we ought to encourage similar quarterly tours by other adventurous Mudcatters. I'd like to thank Alice and Wayne for graciously hosting the Montana segment of the tour. Bill is a charming ranconteur and fine musician, and may be in danger of turning into a western footwear fetishist - he scored a great pair of cowboy boots for $3 at the local thrift shop! Then he revealed he has another seven pair at home! Ask him to tell about the country western nights in the UK clubs. He's got some hilarious tales.
As Kat says, Allan's voice is sweet and he plays as clean a style of 12-string as I've heard in a while. He kids that "Allan doesn't play well with others," but he more than held down his end at our two sessions. He has some amazing disc recording gear that is very small and very effective.
It was great to get info from Bill and Allan about Mudcatters they've met and what they're like. Alice and I were both full of questions about "is so & so a male or female ?" "How old are they?" "What kind of music do they play?" etc. We began to see them as real people and not just icons in the ether. I hope this kind of cultural exchange can keep on happening.
