Still working on recovering...we actually played hooky from our usual weekly English Country/SCA Dance group's practice tonight. Definitely one of my best Getaway experiences ever. I really put a lot of effort into practicing some of my regular contributions and learning some new ones. Paid off in spades. As usual, not enough time to catch up with or meet everyone. Never did get to hear Jerry or Gordon; guess I just happened to be in different places. Also didn't get a chance to chat as much with folks like Amiel and Marge Schotz or the Goddards as we have in past years. On the flip side, I did get to chat more with Micca, Chance, LEJ, Roger, and Janie Meneely, so it all balances out. Getting to hear and meet Bill Steele was very cool. I was already familiar with some of his songs like "The Walls Have Ears" and "A Thousand Songs" that have been "adopted" by the filk community, but it was nice to put a face to the name. Delightful to see and hear from Alaska Mike again. Also Jed Marum and Debbie McClatchy. Was a bad, bad boy in the Saturday night concert. Again. 8-) More later as a few additional brain cells revive... -- Gary
