The USA failed miserably at the Bay of Pigs.Yet it has consistently invaded, plotted or interfered in South and Central American countries for many decades.
Only 18 months ago ago it played a despicable role in the overthrow of the democratically elected government of President Zelaya in Honduras.
Further back it had a hand in the overthrow of President Allende in Chile and supported just about every torturer and tinpot dictator on the continent.
Its failure ,then ,in Cuba was welcome and I seem to remember that for every prisoner Castro subsequently released after the invasion a tractor had to be 'donated ' to the Cuban farmers.
