Here in Juneau we live in cages- albeit fairly large ones- and the bears are free. The only place I've ever lived where, if you are late for work, this is a legitimate excuse: I had to wait until the bear moved away from my car. Week before last I watched as Fish and Game darted and hauled off four bears from my back yard. The officers suggested I should close my window in case a dart's course went awry. True story.
