It could be coof- as being the sound of the bark of many hounds used for coon hunting, or it could be cool fall night, since that's when a lot of coon hunting is done. Fogeye is the name of the coon, Piefoot is probably the lead dog. Flatfoot may refer to the way a big hound runs, kind of like a bear, flopping their big feet out flatfooted. Fickly may refer to dogs being trained to only chase coons.
