As I remember it the club was in "The Little Rose", Rose Crescent, Cambridge and met on Wednesday Evenings during the early/mid seventies. I seem to think that the first verse went something like "Little Jimmy Dirt, he loved to wear a skirt, always hated trousers, was as gentle as a lamb, loved the sky at sunset, the lovely sky at sunset, loved to play all day with his dolly and his pram." I had the full version, now lost of course, written out for me by the singer who composed it and who was indeed involved in running the club. Unfortunately, like the rest of the words of the song, his name escapes me; far too many shandies have passed my lips in the meantime, so my memory is certainly not what it was.
