It has been fascinating reading this thread. Some thought it was a farce and didn't take it seriously. Those of us who were folkies before the folk music revival happened regard names of the deceased with tremendous interest. After all, they were folks we listened to and some of them in person, and we loved traditional folk music heart and soul. It was our very life. I said once that I would never read the newspaper obituaries (sounded so morbid), but I now do that quite regularly. If I see someone I know (knew), I read the entire obit. The rest of you may realize this when you are old and gray. What surprises me are those reported as gone who were a lot younger than me, I thought.
