There is some controversy among the long experienced musicians, about playing 'The Butterfly' in sessions, since it is played by so many, like 'Kesh', 'Maid Bihind the Bar' and 'Dingle Regatta'. What I have heard is that since it is learned by so many 'entry-level' players, it is often struggled through at a session, which prevents its beauty from shining through. Like so many of you, I too love this tune.
