Nearly forty years ago as I was starting out Brian was a huge source of help and encouragement. I still have the copy of O'Neils Music of Ireland which he went through and marked out the tune which were still current (he was a fine fiddle player having had lessons with the wonderful Pat Nealy). He also introduced to Lincolnshire folk song and folklore and was a mine of information which he was always willing to share. He was a wonderful man who will be sadly missed. My condolences o his family. RIP Steve
