I find all of this amazing. Believe me, you could not have walked out of Crumlin Road Prison let alone the cages in Long Kesh or the H Blocks as handy. Yes there were well planned escapes from all three, but there are no easy open prisons in the North of Ireland. Open Prisons are an invitation to walk out of. Magilligan up in Derry as a system of freedom of movement within the prison grounds for those within 8 months of release, but you don't get out past the gate. If you get scooped, you keep your head down and do your time. This is either the result of an over populated prison regime or do gooders misguided faith in the ability of those prisoners to turn over a new leaf.
