Hi Jim <" The Beautiful Game? I don't think so"> I agree with you. I have seen it coming over the years. But last night's Colombia v Brazil was full of spoiling tactics (fouls) by both sides. Plenty of violent tackles went unpunished. Also we have seen diving, not only to get a penalty, but all over the pitch go on generally unpenalised but not unseen by the referees. If the refs would penalise with at least a yellow card it would soon stop. It seems that almost every coming together is either a vicious foul or a dive. What ever happened to the humble ( but fair ) shoulder charge - that is shoulder to shoulder competing for the ball?? Get a grip refs. That said, the game was interesting in phases and again a team with a two goal lead had to hang on for dear life. Phew !! Getting ready for tonight's matches. I will naturally be shouting for Holland as their Manger is now the boss of my team, Manchester United. Difficult decision this one as it would be of more benefit if he was with United now and not go on to the World Cup Final. cheers MikeL2
