I disagree with the Scotland would probably have gone no further. They would have fancied themselves against Argentina in the semi-final and would basically not likely ever have a better chance to reach a final had they made the semi. Historically Scotland haven't had a good record against the Pumas but that has reversed in recent years and Scotland have beaten them 4 out of 5 of the recent games. Sure Argentina have improved over the past couple of years but so have Scotland! We've played them twice within the last 18 months (one home and one away) and we beat them both times. So of course it is something that can't be proved either way but I am sure Scotland would have fancied themselves in that one! New Zealand in the final a different matter of course!
