Google Maps still show the location Argleton Town in Aughton, West Lancashire, but identifies it as a ghost town.

The linked article is headlined;
    "Map Traps: Intentional Mapping Errors to Combat Plagiarism"

but it sounds to me like an excuse to cover up accidental errors by the cartographer. Google maps used to have the wrong locations for several businesses near to my house but they seem to have been corrected now.
