I am not disputing that you can find a 'nice 5Km' to cycle, Thompson but the phrase used was so that all* journeys under 3 miles/5km (20 minutes' pleasant cycle) can be made by bicycle.* I have no doubt that from our house (In Airdale) I can find a nice 5Km either towards Skipton or Towards Keighley but if I try to head out of the valley in any other direction I am faced with a minimum 20% hill within half a mile one way and within 1 mile the other. I live in the valley, not up a mountain but not all my 5Km journeys can be a 20 minute peasant trip! Mind you, if I got a lot fitter I suppose they would become a lot easier :-) Cheers DtG
