I can not understand how the chief constable of south Yorkshire was ever appointed as similar on Merseyside. The real crime of course is what happened after the tragic incident. The lies and attempts to discredit Liverpool fans to say nothing of changing police statements. There is a history of how major sports events were policed in south Yorkshire and the removal of an experienced officer for disciplinary reasons less than a month before the disaster to be replaced by Duckinfield who had no such experience.
