The word "drop" is now often used to mean "premier" or "introduce". As in, "The first episode of the new season of 'That TV Show Everybody's Watching' was dropped last night." To me, "drop" means to get rid of something. As in, "'That TV Show Everybody's Watching' was dropped because nobody was really watching it." I guess that makes "drop" one of those "auto-antonym" words that can mean either of two opposite things. (Other examples: "cleave" and "sanction".)
