Joe, this puts me in mind of when in about 1952 friends of my parents came home from Jamaica, and gave us a 10" LP of Lord Invader. The recprd company was something like 'The Island Store'. I learned most of the songs, for example: A verse for Brownskin Gal, 'This dishonest woman Daisy, thought to use her poor brain on me' Milly Milly kindly tell me where did you get the baby?', which ends with the father promising a pram. Very odd one about passing Miss Goosy house and hearing Mr Goosy in his goosy bed. On that disc or elsewhere I got 'Donkey City'. Years later I met the Jamaican ambassador to the UN, who sang me an obscene version. What stuff. These lyrics are probably there in the Mudcat lyrics, I shall have a look now.
