Here's a little thread "drift"... Carl Hiaasen, an extroardinary Florida fiction writer and Miami Herald columnist has a recuring character in his semi-offbeat novels named "Skink". Seems Skink was the Governor of Florida until he split a bit at the seams and is now a swamp dwelling, cartel-busting, roadkill eating environmentalist anti-hero. Great reading.
