If you're reconsidering a bombarde how about a rackett? I have a friend who built one - just a steady hand with a drill and a bit of time - you have to fit about 12' of space into a 1' chunk of wood. Now there's a challenge! I took the easy instrument and just made a tabor. Sounds rather wonderful, a good, deep furry vibration. Elaine. Elaine.
