In reply to your queries, Gun Teann Mi Ris Na Ruinn Tha Seo is sort of traditional, written by one John MacLeod who died in 1911. He was from Leódhas (Lewis), and though he spent some years in Canada as a lay preacher, he returned to Leódhas before his death. He wrote a number of beautiful songs, including An t-Eilean mu Thuath and Fagail Bhernaraidh, also on The Blood Is Strong. The Shaw mentioned would be Donald Shaw, Karen Matheson's husband and another founding member of Capercaillie.
