As we reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001, remember another September 11 and the 7,000 lives lost fighting for our freedom.
This year is the 225th anniversary of the Battle of Brandywine, September 11, 1777. Even though General George Washington lost the battle and 7,000 men, we went on to win the war and freedom. On Sunday, September 22, 2002, there will be a celebration of freedom and a reenactment of the Battle of Brandywine at Brandywine Battlefield Park. Join us for a celebration of freedom.
Check out the web sites for Brandywine Battlefield Park. www.ushistory.org/brandywine and www.ushistory.org/brandywine/brandywine or search Brandywine Battlefield.
The words of Bill Stains' "Bridges" also comes to mind. The last verse says (I can't remember all the words but here goes, "Let us build a bridge of muisic, let us cross it with a song, let us __________________, let us right another wrong, Oh, and if someone should ask us where we are off and bound today, we will tell them building bridges and be off and on our way."
September 11, 2002 brought home just how precious our freedom is.
