Hi Frank, Thanks for helping on this, unfortunately, I wasn't very clear on what I was/am looking for. I'm trying to find who wrote the song, or who performed it, or when it was popular in the US, if it is based on some other folk tune, etc. I have had no luck in researching it on the Internet. I have the words and music and have no other background-except that my words and music come from the 1840s! Do you know any of the answers to the above questions:) Thanks for your help! John
