September 4, 2005 will mark my first anniversary as a 'Catter.

During this past [almost] year, I have read & posted to current threads. And-when the spirit moved me-I have also started new threads.

Because I've been curious as to what went on at Mudcat before I came here, I have also used the Search & Knowledge box to go back & read archived threads. Sometimes I end up posting to those threads too.

One of the things that strikes me when I read old theads like this one Mudcat- History Seeking A Resume is the fact that while there are a fair number of 'Catters from those old threads who are still active today, others have ceased posting here for one reason or another.

I have seen this happen even in the short time I have been on Mudcat...

This got me to wondering...do active posters routinely take vacations from Mudcat during the summer or otherwise?

And if so, are there reasons why this is recommended?

Also, I'm curious to know what 'Catters who no longer post here do you miss reading and exchanging comments with and why?
