Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 15 Apr 04 - 07:41 AM He claimed on Tuesday that he hadn't had deliveries of stuff that he had ordered - seems to be a recurrent problem with Enterprise Inns that own the pub (along with about 9000 others)- Steve had the same thing happen a few times. R We too managed on Tuesday, I was obliged to drink McKewans 80 Shilling - it was that or Old Peculier |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 15 Apr 04 - 06:45 AM Yep, it was packed. He ran out of Guinness AND cider half way through the bloody evening. I don't think he ordered enough beer for the Easter Weekend, Rog. It was a pain in the bum. Still, we managed.... |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 15 Apr 04 - 03:43 AM Well somebody must have drunk a lot of beer - there were only two bitters on by Tuesday night when we went in for our session. Were there a lot of people in the pub on Sunday? R |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 13 Apr 04 - 06:30 AM No, not till later. But the temptation to steal Antoine's guitar for a couple of tunes with the lovely NikNak was too much to bear. Ooops. ;o) |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 13 Apr 04 - 05:18 AM Oh, you weren't drunk were you Pete? R |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 13 Apr 04 - 04:37 AM And a damn fine evening it was too. Well done guys. Hope I didn't make a nuisance of myself....! |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 08 Apr 04 - 06:41 AM Hey that Kazaa is really good - I haven't used it before. R |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: s6k Date: 07 Apr 04 - 12:16 PM you could always try Kazaa, or the probably now-superior LimeWire, or bit torrent. these 3 are the dominating forces in peer to peer sharing. you cannot get kazaa lite any more, which is kazaa but it loads faster and has no advertising etc. but you can still get the normal kazaa, always helpful. I havent tried LimeWire but i hear good things about it, and even that it may be better then kazaa. its just a shame audiogalaxy closed down. |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 07 Apr 04 - 12:07 PM You can be my string engineer again, Les! John the Harp was on duty last sunday. Very useful he was too. On a serious note, what sites do people use for downloading music tracks? I'm trying to locate some old standards for the new band and compile a cd with them all on. Any recommendations, folks? |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Les from Hull Date: 07 Apr 04 - 11:46 AM I'm more familiar with orange the fruit than with orange the cheese, jOhn, so you can keep it out of my letterbox, please. (You'd never get past the Dagger Lane Ninja Guard Rats, anyway). In the words of Les Barker (Poet and Train Spotter) 'There's Cheddar and Cheshire and Lancashire, too Leicester's bright orange and Stilton is blue It waxes so lyrical what can you do but sing Oh the hard cheese of old England, In Old England, very hard cheese' I might go and see that Punch the Horse if I'm doing nowt (as my arm is getting better now). |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 07 Apr 04 - 08:31 AM i can deliver it if you like, i'm going to town later, [if your not in, i can put it threw your letter box]. |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 07 Apr 04 - 04:44 AM Sir Roger and I are considering popular demands to set up a repeat performance of the E.F.O. (Electric Folk Orchestra) in the back room of the Sun Inn on Sunday night to compete with the Equine Pugilists. If we time it right, folks standing in the middle could be simultaneously treated to both Traditional and Thin Lizzy versions of Whiskey in the Jar! |
Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 07 Apr 04 - 04:11 AM Les-its orange cheese, its got a bit of sawdust on it, but i can soon wipe it off [i gave it to my hamster, but he didn't want it], you can have this sandwidge for 10p, just let me know if your intrested. |

Subject: RE: PTH Spring Social From: The DeanMeister Date: 06 Apr 04 - 10:35 AM I believe the correct response would be "What colour would you like it, Eric?" Shortly followed by "Would you prefer delivery this Friday, or next Wednesday?" I have studied my art, me. And Karen, should that not be "Trouble CAUSING and exploration"? |
