Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: The_one_and_only_Dai Date: 18 Jan 02 - 06:29 AM Tentative schedule: Friday pm. Meet & greet. I'm planning to have a large pot of inedible gunk simmering away. Friday evening. Bill Jones gig at the folk club for the terminally antisocial. £4. Beer in York House for everyone else. On Saturday morning, Gareth has called a meeting in order to discuss various issues to do with matters he is better able to explain. Hopefully we can all reamin sober and sensible enough for an hour or so before the pubs actually open. Saturday lunch, if all goes according to plan, at Fox & Hounds, in shifts. After lunch, a trip to The Crown with our gracious hosts Steve and Lindy, beer, singing, and choonz. Saturday evening. impromptu ceilidh and dwyle-flonging. Sunday Lunchtime, an excursion to The Vaults for the long-standing open session, bring yer kazoo and kilt. This goes on 'til 3pm, and after that I expect to wind down... |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: The_one_and_only_Dai Date: 18 Jan 02 - 06:10 AM 8th 9th 10th of February. Costs are STILL TBD. Bring something to sleep in/on of you're indoor camping, there's a room set aside for the purpose. If you have any specific alcoholic needs, bring 'em, I'm negotiating for a barrel of bright beer and the offy is not too far. I'll procure some coffee, tea, milk, bread etc and people can sort themselves out in that regard. Eating houses from chippy to fine modern cuisine are available a-plenty in Stony, most pubs do food as well. Certain hostelries are forewarned to our presence and will welcome us with open arms. |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Dave Bryant Date: 18 Jan 02 - 05:58 AM The barricades are going up on the A5, A508, Watling St. etc. They're even going to be checking all cars turning off the M1 at junctions 14, 15 and 15a for guitars, melodeons, whistles, mandolins, bodhrans and kazoos - especially BODHRANS & KAZZOOS...... |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 18 Jan 02 - 05:47 AM Yes Tevor, I'm hoping to get there and then be the indoor camping brigade... but no me pants are not mouldy... Dim problem! Thank you Missus Duck for putting all a bit more eloquently than me... I agree with you one hundred percent. Ta! |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Mrs.Duck Date: 18 Jan 02 - 05:40 AM It would be really useful if someone that has a clue what's going on would just run through the main 'needs to know' about the weekend (including dates for the more forgetful) such as what is happening when and where, costs involved, who I get to sleep with etc. |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Trevor Date: 18 Jan 02 - 05:00 AM What's wrong with a bag of mouldy pants? Are you part of the indoor camping brigade? I think they should know. |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 18 Jan 02 - 04:17 AM wot date is it on again - I've lost all grip on reality.. Sorry - but I need reminding - my memory is worse than a bag of mould pants. |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Morticia Date: 17 Jan 02 - 04:55 PM I got a Desperate Dan in Pie Folding, so there! |
Subject: RE: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: Dead Horse Date: 17 Jan 02 - 02:49 PM All those who would attempt to stop fights breaking out, with or without fire extinguishers, are just a bunch of wet blankets! I gained a first dan in origami, and would have gone on for second dan, but the club folded. |
Subject: Stony Stratford: doom approaching From: MudGuard Date: 17 Jan 02 - 09:31 AM in continuation of The Stony Stratford saga To all people living in Stony Stratford: You have only 3 weeks to evacuate now before the Mudcatters hit your place - so get moving! |
