Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: GUEST,Toby Jackson Date: 05 Apr 04 - 01:41 PM I'll probably be going this year, but it all depends if dad (ie Andy) lets me stop making badges for all you peeps. My hands are seriously hurting now... im sure its slave labour or something. :) On a reasonably serious note, Im the Code Monkey for miskins website, dad does the actual content, but the design and implimentation is often mine. Im just thinking about next years festival (if dad does it of course) does anyone have any requests for the site? There isnt any limit to what i can do to be honest, I made dad buy a proper host for it so i can do Photo Gallerys where you can add ur own pictures, a forum for chat, or whatever you want. Let me know via T.A.Jackson@cs.cf.ac.uk or this weekend at the fest, and i'll see what i can do. Between my Uni studies and socialising of course. Thanks T Jackson |

Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: GUEST,Andy Jackson Date: 28 Jan 04 - 09:25 PM Wow! such a lot of interest in such a small festival. Seems I'm getting some of it right. I'm actually looking forward to it this year, that's probably a bad sign, I work best when I'm panicing! See you all there - except those that won't be. I take the above excuses as letters from your Mums and let you off this year! Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: snake19 Date: 28 Jan 04 - 09:00 AM I use to go in the early 1990's,been once since. Can not go any more, due to circumstances. |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: Splott Man Date: 28 Jan 04 - 07:50 AM So I am. I hadn't checked the website lately for confirmation. I shall also be Concert Director (that's Andy's title for me anyway, I think he's trying to make me feel important) which means if you are booked, I make sure you are where you should be when you should be. We used to call that Stage manager in my day. |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: snake19 Date: 27 Jan 04 - 11:04 AM Splott Man your there as your booked as a guest????? |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: Splott Man Date: 26 Jan 04 - 07:37 AM I've been to a bigger dictionary, and "Meisgyn" means "Moth" My mate reckons that during the big push to get bilingual roadsigns in the 70s, this was a hasty transliteration done late on a Friday afternoon. By the way, I will be there at Easter. regards Splott man |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: GUEST,Seaking Date: 26 Jan 04 - 05:38 AM I'll be there with the kids again. Looking forward again to one of the best weekends of the year. See you there.. |

Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: Snuffy Date: 25 Jan 04 - 06:27 PM Ned Could Gyn be related to the Greek word for "woman"? I think it might be safer to stick with Nigel's Maes Gwyn (=Whit(e)field) |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: Splott Man Date: 25 Jan 04 - 07:19 AM Nigel On the meaning of Miskin. The road sign to Miskin has the Welsh name as Meisgyn. I think the first syllable means "shallow" but my dictionary doesn't have a word "gyn". Any thoughts? |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: snake19 Date: 24 Jan 04 - 02:36 PM I am not bothering this year. |
Subject: RE: Miskin @ Easter 2004 From: pixieofdoom Date: 23 Jan 04 - 06:56 PM It was the clog dancers that did for me..........not very hangover friendly, couldn't tell if the most noise was the inside or the outside of my head! |
