The only reason we could come to the handfasting was we had to be at the F&H cos we run it! Bright Blessings. |

Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: lady penelope Date: 16 May 05 - 04:26 PM Hello? Can you keep the noise down? There was a reason I didn't make it to the 'survivors' session - it's 'cos I didn't............... It was a very lovely do. The ceremony literally had me laughing and crying. Pixie was fab (the keys were a stroke of genius - she's a wonderfully warped person.....) It must be true love, as far as I know Micca has never sung romantic songs to anyone! It was definitely a 9/10 hanky moment. Every one was just so brilliant. Singing "all around my spirit" with MBSLynne, Herga Kitty and the rest of the gals was just the bestest. Idris' "Theopolis P Wildebeast' impersonation is going to stay with me for a while, all that kept running through my head was "well, it'll give Morty somewhere to rest her tankard". I was stunned to find that the Black lion had a beer garden, never mind one that nice or large! I'll keep it in mind for future hangovers...... Oh, and Parker managed to get some fabulous piccies whic he's going to pass onto Micca & Cat. Right, that's quite tired me out........ nurse, can I have some weak ribena please? TTFN Lady P. |

Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: Morticia Date: 16 May 05 - 06:15 AM Some thoughts from the weekend, now I can actually think again.....the bride, wasn't she lovely? And even the little fat uncle looked dashing...in fact everyone looked fantastic. The ceremony was wonderful and added to by the humour and jollity that no-one minds in pagan ceremonies. The singing of The Way You Look Tonight had me more than a little teary and then the wonderful Best Man's speech finished me off completely. I know she's my daughter, so perhaps I shouldn't say so, but my god, Pixie is funny and Micca's face when a long line of women 'gave back the keys to his flat' including one pregnant lady and several men......hysterical. Cara were absolutely superb, the rest of the singers and musicians were too....and it was so wonderful to spend time with so many of our friends and family......thanks everyone. I won't make next weekend but I have lots of warm memories to see me through. |

Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: Catherine Jayne Date: 15 May 05 - 01:55 PM GUEST.....How is Liz going to get the recipe for the chocolate wedding cake as it was me who asked the lady in York to make it for me??....... Sian....the chocolate cake was next to the fruit cake on the right and got 'demolished' as quick as the fruit cake did!! Im glad you have all got home safely and look forward to hearing your stories from the weekend!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: sian, west wales Date: 15 May 05 - 01:43 PM Well, I had a great time, and I say this with two fingers held up to British Rail and all its minions who seem determined to make life miserable for anyone wanting to travel to, from or within London. My mind's a-whirl with all the faces I now have to fit to Mudcat faces! And once again, mega-felicitations to the Happy Couple! sian p.s. I didn't see no chocolate cake! (But the fruit cake was superb; good thing it didn't manage to escape. Had enough combustables in it to do 0 to 60 in 10 seconds!) |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: Herga Kitty Date: 15 May 05 - 01:12 PM I have to confess to a very senior moment, when I should have sung "since you've proved false I'll prove the same" just before the cake was cut, but I skipped to the next verse. I did sing the missing verse afterwards, under my breath though. Thanks, Micca and Khatt, for a great do - and PoD was a wonderful best man! Love Kitty |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: GUEST Date: 15 May 05 - 12:30 PM Liz, can you get the cake recipe and put it in the mudcat cookbook? |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: SINSULL Date: 15 May 05 - 12:16 PM I was there in spirit. Mudcat picked a crappy time to be down. Micca singing "The Way You Look Tonight"? I get misty just thinking of it. Be very happy and very kind to each other. Love you both, SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: Catherine Jayne Date: 15 May 05 - 12:15 PM The chocolate cake was made by a lady in York who does it as a hobby. It was the top layer of the cake we had at the legal wedding in Yorkshire the week before. Glad you liked it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Micca & catsPHiddle's Handfasting part 2 From: GUEST,MBSLynne Date: 15 May 05 - 12:10 PM But Khatt...who made the chocolate cake?? I NEED the recipe! It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my whole life. I even ate the sad lump left after a certain duckling had eaten the icing off and put the cake back on the plate! Love Lynne |
