"Why would any of them? Because they thought they could get away with it with no consequences..."

Hmmm... I expect they knew the consequences... I expect it was well thought out and carefully planned with both "sides" negotiating "the deal". Men with $ and power seldom make mistakes when they wish to subjugate the poor of other nations and of their own nations.

History? INDDED! But, think about it a little deeper. Think about WHO attacked WHO with the exception of the "US" reference. (I assume that one was simply the fact that the "US" had learned the lessons from the ruling elite in Europe.

Conspiracy Theory? Maybe... but you can't refute it... can you?

"Why would they "hit Israel" when it would lead to their own sudden extinction?
"

Why would Japan attack the US in 1941?

Why would Germany attack Poland in 1939?

Why would Germany attack Belgium in 1914?

Why would S Carolina attack Ft Sumter in 1861?

Why would any of them? Because they thought they could get away with it with no consequences...

"Hitler's attack on Poland was far from being the first aggressive act of Nazi Germany in Europe. A year before that, Czechoslovakia had been captured, with the approval and signing of a relevant agreement by the leaders of the Western powers of Great Britain and France. Large-scale warfare in East Asia began with Japan's attack on China in July 1937, where considerably more people were involved than in Europe in 1939, if we take into account how many people lived in Japan and China. Besides, a number of great powers found themselves indirectly engaged in the conflict, in one way or another. During that period, the USSR and the US, although without any agreement, but due to their strategic interests, lent assistance to China.

Thus, what date shall we consider the start of the war? In the Far East it is Japan's attack on China, while the start of the Second World War – in Europe – began with Germany's expansion, from the capture of Austria in March 1938. British Prime Minister Churchill wrote later that the only country which protested against the Anschluss of Austria was the Soviet Union."

Why would they "hit Israel" when it would lead to their own sudden extinction?

Anyway, Israel and the USA are constantly threatening to hit them. Didn't you notice?

And Israel frequently hits whoever they want to anyway, having already launched numerous attacks on various of their neighbours, and having taken over pieces of various of their neighbours' lands in their endless search for lebensraum...

while Iran has not attacked anyone in the last century, but has seen itself occupied (and bombed) by the British empire prior to WWII, its new democratically elected government then overthrown in the 1950s by a CIA-directed coup so that British and American oil corporations could control the marketing of Iranian oil, and later an 8-year proxy war launched against it by Iraq, with strong American encouragement....and since then an unremitting campaign of intimidation and persecution of Iran by the USA and its allies...with the intent of achieving regime change there.

"Regime change" means: We (the USA and its allies) get to run the place. This was done in Iraq in 2003. It was done in Afghanistan in 2001. It was done in Lybia recently. And it is being attempted in Syria for the last 2 years...not achieved yet, but I expect it eventually will be. Regime change when done by the West is NOT done to bring democracy or freedom to anyone. It is done to secure control of a nation, to establish a weak and helpless client government there, to build a military presence there, to control that nation's policy and its strategic resources, and to further extend the reach of the American Empire, for the benefit of American business and political interests.

It's what the Romans did. It's what the British did when they were the world's greatest empire. It's what Hitler and Mussolini tried to do...but they failed after only a few years.

All such conquering empires eventually meet their Waterloo, and they are not remembered fondly when that day comes.

Stringsinger KNOWS that Iran would never attack anyone. Look at how well they treat their own people... ( sending civilians out into minefields to protect the tanks and troops)

But IF Iran attacks Israel with a WMD, OR provides one to Hezboallah, there are likely to be NO Iranian oil fields not burning for the next 75-100 years- and that is CHINA's main source of oil.

Can you say WW III?

It is a pity that so many do not look at history, and the causes of WW I and WW II.....

But then as long as they have "Peace in Our time..."

What's with the erstwhile "liberal" Barbara Boxer and Ron Wyden?
They are singing McCain's song, "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran".

Back door to a new war
