Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: JennyO Date: 21 Dec 06 - 08:54 PM I'm really hoping something turns up today - it's the last day for postal deliveries - I have some of my pressie, but my Santa told me there was more. Am I right, Santa? I'm being good and not opening the package I have already. Are you there, Santa? |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: freda underhill Date: 21 Dec 06 - 05:55 PM Santa Clues I will wait til Christmas day, because that's the day of presents. i don't worship anything except nature, my children and each moment. there are no explanations to life, although some tell me there is no such thing as an accident. I hope you have a very happy solstice, Santa, and that you and yours have a very happy Christmas too. best wishes freda ps Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,FU's SS Date: 21 Dec 06 - 10:57 AM Next Monday will do fine if that is when your mid-winter/summer celebration occurs. I know that there are some who will open their packages today, it being the solstice; others may care to wait for the New Year or for the birthday of their preferred deity. Whenever and whatever you celebrate, that will be the right time to open the package, rather than giving in now too easily. But there are no explanations inside - they will only be provided once you have had time to ponder the contents and their meanings. Santa Clues :-? |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: ClaireBear Date: 20 Dec 06 - 12:37 PM Dear Santa, Not to worry. I should thank you for saving me from the temptatiuon to open my goodies before Christmas (though of course I would never, ever do such a thing). As a child (in 1961), I spent six months living in Spain, where at that time Santa was unknown and Christmas was just a church celebration. But on the Epiphany, Santa's good buddies the Three Kings came by on camelback and left pressies for me and the other good girls and boys in our shoes, left on the windowsill for that purpose. (The camels must have been tall; I lived on the third floor of an apartment building but the pressies still arrived.) I suspect that Los Tres Reyes Magos will be good to me this year! Thank you for keeping in touch, Santa! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST, ClaireBear's Apologetic Santa Date: 20 Dec 06 - 12:05 PM Well, uh, there's been a glitch in the wrapping and packing department here at the North Pole. Can't blame the delay on sloth, beecause Sloth has been busy ironing the Santa suit and gassing up the reindeer. No, probably the fault of the effect of global warming on the space/time continuum. And maybe the fact that it gets dark too early and we can't have Daylight Savings Time all year round. Alas, you will probably not receive your package of goodies (all selected, but not wrapped!) before December 25th. However, there is a very, very good chance it will be in your hands before the New Year and well in advance of Old Christmas. Sigh. All Santa wants for Christmas is two more weeks before Christmas! |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: freda underhill Date: 18 Dec 06 - 08:57 PM Santa Clues, I admit to speculating as to your identity. my crystal ball is a little cloudy but it seems: * you have a beard, but not a white one * you are a singer of songs (some of them rather bawdy) * you are a dancer, maybe with bells on your legs and a flowery hat * you are not John Warner (that's who I thought you were at first) * you are an English folkie with a quirky sense of humour (thinks).... I'm hoping more will be revealed in a week! freda |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: GUEST,SINSULL's Surprisingly Southern-fried Santa Date: 18 Dec 06 - 08:44 PM Oh goody, you got the postcards. Then your parcel can not be too far behind - that is after customs have poked and prodded it, shaken it, squashed it and batted it round the room a few times :-( So there is a faint chance you may get it this week. What happened last year? Do tell! Here are a few more hints: * I have met your local elves in Real Life, and very nice people they are too! * We like to have lots of BBQ's - in fact we will probably have one on Christmas Day. * I like to travel and collect postcards, as you have noticed. My brother lives in one of those places. * I didn't REALLY make any of your prezzies out of dryer lint - honest! *You will find out who I am when you open your package! St. Swithin's Day is a distinct possibility! |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa Clues and Nudges From: Helen Date: 14 Dec 06 - 03:27 PM All right, I'm just clever enough to get *that* clue. :-) You've got to admit that, for a non-US-er I was close with my guess of Louisiana, geographically speaking. Six flags took me on a bit of a detour, because I was assuming that it was flags of 6 countries, but they weren't distinct/separate countries. But I was wrong about the Guavas in Guam. So not Naemanson at all. Rats! That theory had a few matches, because Naemanson is originally from Maine, and has been to Oz, I think, therefore your comment to JennyO that you have "crossed paths". So now I have to figure out which one of our Texan Mudcatters you are. Do I get any clues to do that, please? Pretty-please?! Helen |
