your completely right - delete the cookies and turn up as anyone you like - a big flaw in the mudcat system - i was going to mention it first, but wanted to give kat a good windup first. Sorry if i was a bit over the top. But it made the point

Don't worry, kat. Those of us who have gotten to know you could spot it as a forgery immediately. I won't get into details, because the imposter could use it to refine his/her technique for next time if they can't be stopped by technical means. For the record, I think that false posting under another's name is even more cowardly than anonymous posting, and unworthy of anyone who claims to be human.

Sweet jaysus - I hope I never do anything to get katlaughingforreal po'd at me. As for the bogus poster, fek 'im (or her). I'm no whiz kid about computers, but it appears that a non-member, or anyone posting from a cookie-less machine, can type in whatever alias they like. It might be that the 'cat can trace the origin of the bogus posts. Then we could flood that machine with e-mail. Sort of a just deserts campaign. Assumming, of course, that it's a lawful thing to do.
