..Mr Jogi fathered his eldest daughter, Sita Devi, in 1943. His latest wife, Saburi, who has given him seven children, was first married to his eldest son Shiv Lal, who died 10 years ago...


So, he married his daughter-in-law....which would mean that any children she had, by his son, would be his grandchildren....and any childen he had by her would be his er...children....

So..erm..therefore she'd be their mother/aunt/cousin/grandmother/daughter

And his grandchildren would be...er...grandchildren to his children..and then..their grandfather could be his son, deceased, because her children by him were his grandchildren also.....

I was in Kalamazoo (yes, the real place) for a Film Festival last year and I thought we'd be the only game in this one-horse town; but the Hotel was loaded with horrible little girls dressed up like angels (or whores). Turns out there was a "beautiful child" competition going on.

I bumped into an old geezer (older than me, for sure, and I'm as old as the Rockies) on the elevator. He had a badge for the competition, so I asked if he was a "judge". No, his daughter was in the contest. She was four. "Got eleven daughters" he said. "Oldest is in her forties, youngest six months."

My jaw dropped. I still haven't got it re-attached.

Himself's grandfather, Adolphus Peter Robilliard, retired from work aged 60...the reason, stated on his retirement certificate (still in the family papers) was to get married. He married a woman aged 30 and they had two children, one of whom was my husband's mother. Adolphus was born in 1849, and Himself was born in 1944; needless to say he never met his maternal grandfather who died in about 1931.

Although it was Adolphus' third marriage he only had one child by each previous wife, and this despite the fact that he was a sailor - obviously he didn't have a wife in every port!

It was much more common a hundred years or so ago, when death in childbirth was more likely.

I have several instances where a wife has died in childbirth or shortly after and the husband has married again, fathering children on the new wife. The biggest gap is that between the 64 year old man and his 26yr old wife, with a new baby on the 1901 census of 2 months old.

I think you have to define 'horny'. The instances used above appear to be childen born to loving relationships - the result of the physical declararation of that love where age has no barrier.

Would there be a simliar outcry if it were 40+ yr old women having babies by 18yr old boys? Or are women not allowed to be horny and need a loving relationship?

agreed...gnu, if you find the right partner and agree on what you both want, it is perfectly sane, right and reasonable to be a 'late' father. I left one life at 38, remarried at 40 and had a son at 42. He is now 26, and I am looking forward to 10-20 MORE years of knowing him.

Age does not matter in a father, gnu...love does. (same with a mother too) You sound as if a child would be a blessing to you...and I hope that one day soon, your child in your arms, be you 51, 61, 71...........All a child needs is to know they're loved...and even if that love is only physically there for a few years, it will be spiritually within the child forever.

I hope you have many, many children, because I've no doubt at all that they will be deeply loved.

Unfortunately, she failed to convey that to me during the courtship, and continued the teasing ruse well into the marriage. So, am I to simply accept a life without children because some of you are of the opinion that I cannot be a good father because of my age?

I love the work of Frida, one of my all time favorite artists. At the time she wasn't taken serious although many like myself regarded her work superior to Diego's own. It took quite a while for her to be noted for the genius she really was.

At the young age of 15, Kahlo met Rivera at the National Preparatory School where she was a student and he a teacher. Despite their age difference and the fact that Rivera was married to Lupe Marin, Kahlo swore that some day she would have a child by Rivera. Rivera had fallen in love with the United States, while Kahlo loathed the country and wanted to remain in Mexico. After much heated debate, the couple returned to Mexico in 1935 only to encounter their biggest problem yet. Soon after arriving home, Rivera had an affair with Kahlo's younger sister Christina, and Kahlo was devastated by her husband and her sister's betrayal of trust. Although the couple finally reconciled, Rivera's affair had marked a turning point in their relationship and both partners would subsequently succumb to infidelity and betrayal.

Over the course of several years, both artists were involved in other relationships, but in 1950, as Kahlo's health was deteriorating, the pair were reunited and remarried. Some speculated that Kahlo used her failing health as a means to hold Rivera's attention, but despite these rumors, it could not be denied that Frieda Kahlo was dying and Diego Rivera was there to comfort her.'

He nursed her through terrible pain and was there at the end for her. She was the one woman he loved, despite all the others...this tiny woman, with such a broken body, who endured terrible suffering and who loved this older man with such a passion, that all his past affairs were eventually forgiven, if not forgotten.

This story is the best. A few years ago my family and I visited the mansion that was the home of President Tyler. You know the tippy canoe and tyler to guy. He was a friend of George Washington and was President in the 1820's. Well the tour guide was telling people we had to be quiet because his grandson was elderly and upstairs sleeping. I figured it was just a mistake. When we went through the one room she said and that is his dad's civil war uniform? Someone then spoke up. And the lady sad no it is his dad's not great grandfather but his dads. President Tyler knocked up a 30 year old when he was in his 80's hence this guy's dad. Hia dad fought in the civil war. When his dad was in his 80's he knocked up a 27 year old and hence this guy was born. Can you imagine show and tell in grade school. And this is my grandfathers letter to George Washington and this is my dad's civil war uniform ... Amazing. Now that is Horny old dudes for sure
