The batch we sold at Market Rasen were recycled from a compilation LP by Perry Como and Andy Williams performing Led Zeppelins Stairway to Heaven. Re-cycling the true path |

Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 06 Dec 05 - 03:18 AM Yes Yes Yes Market Rasen Folk Continental |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 05 Dec 05 - 06:52 PM I notice there is a disturbing tendency in some so called Folk Clubs for the audience to disport themselves in the so called modern way of veiwing the performers side ways on! For goodnes sake just because the Americans or the damned continentals do things wrong there is absolutely no need for the good old traditional English ways to be cast aside. What will be next? Will Les be greating us with a kiss on both cheeks and a plateful of garlic snails. Will we be barred from entry if we dont wear frilly shirts and a suntan? Will the traditional English whiskers become a thing of the past? For pities sake Les,Please think what you are throwing away. Oh yeah and Merry "Winter Holiday". YOURs Faithfully Etc Etc Etc. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 05 Dec 05 - 05:09 PM Sideways is best then :-) |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Sttaw Legend Date: 05 Dec 05 - 06:14 AM There has been rumours about the chinese having sideways. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Hand-Pulled Boy Date: 05 Dec 05 - 05:57 AM As you know you can't always get it sideways but on this occassion the delight was all ours. Also the friendliness surpassed all expectations! Thank you all. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 04 Dec 05 - 01:26 PM I had to pay them fuzz the bet. I really didn't think they would do it. All for a tenner!!!!!! Ah well it was a good job you wern't under the affluence. It looks like the sideways style worked. Dave Evardson reckoned it was better as well. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rockhen Date: 04 Dec 05 - 06:00 AM PS...I think I preferred the sideways layout of the club, Villan...Once I got over the initial, "feels like an interview" terror. I agree with your comments about removing the end tables near the door because you can always add them if there are enough people attending. Clubs like the MRFC have to continally evolve if they are not to become stale and we all have to try to support each other, whether performer or part of the regular audience. There is room for everyone with a little compromise, I think. Long live live music! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rockhen Date: 04 Dec 05 - 05:29 AM Echo echo echo "nice to meet" more " fellow mudcatters and put faces to the names. You have a wonderful club and a very appreciative audience keep up the good work" We had a great night, thanks...great to hear yet more excellent performers for the first time, (well we'd heard everyone else apart from HW band and always enjoy hearing them again...really looking forward to hearing the HarriWatts band again, too, now...Now zay have been ensnared into ze club, zay weeel not escape ze scary Villan again... What is this, 'Humber Bridge'so many mention? Is it further than that Barton place?...I thought the world ended there... |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Sttaw Legend Date: 04 Dec 05 - 05:09 AM Many thanks for inviting us Les we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Nice to meet fellow Mudcatters and put faces to the names. You have a wonderful club and a very appreciative audience keep up the good work. Thanks for the kind words. I was stopped by your exemplary police and breathalysed on our way home across the border……such fun……how much did you pay them to do that? |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Georgiansilver Date: 03 Dec 05 - 09:26 AM I thought a Zulu was an animal toilet? shows how much I know! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 03 Dec 05 - 08:47 AM Didn't they have to be on the Humber Bridge by midnight, otherwise they would be turned into gint welks. AS they didn't leave the club till gone midnight, I can only assume they are squelching their way along the bridge, trying to avoid Oaklet and his fishing net. Or has that there Zulu posting above captured them and got them in his big boiling pot. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Travelling Audience Date: 03 Dec 05 - 06:32 AM Thanks to all them performers for a great nights entertainment. Hope them from across the water got home safely before their visas expired!! Mo. & Geoff. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 03 Dec 05 - 05:42 AM I think you must have misheard me Tim. I said you were dodgy and that it was a shame you were going to miss the last two acts. :-) Thanks for coming though. It was a pity you had to go. You would have enjoyed em. Till the next time. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 03 Dec 05 - 02:48 AM Thanks for the tip off Les, You said the last two acts would be a bit dodgy so managed to make our excuses and leave before they could get going,Phew! Another close call I hope we never have to stay to the end and see all the peformances. That big grinny thing with all the litte black teeth made some right noises didnt it? Honestly once again thouroughly enjoyed the evening guys well done to all and apologies to the bands we had too miss |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: GUEST,zulu662000 Date: 02 Dec 05 - 08:09 PM Helello you mad cap performers who delighted everyone and you travelled so far.We had a whip round for your speeding fines and got a huge response. All in all a big bag of wonderful B@!>^cks tonight, but wonderful all the same.Good man Les and keep it real. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Dec 2nd 05 From: Rasener Date: 02 Dec 05 - 08:02 PM Thanks GS Smashing variety again with good performances from everybody. I don't normally single any performers out, as it is a team effort, and from the first to the last they all did their part to entertain us. However a word about HarriWatts Band. I didn't know what to expect from them HarriWatts chaps, but they surpassed even my wildest dreams. Already talking about a spotlight guest slot for next year. Very nice mudcatters. Cough cough cough. Whilst the numbers were down a bit, I managed to break even. So a vey warm thanks to all those who made the effort to come tonight. Very much appreciated. The experiment with changing the room around, seemd to work quite well, with favourable comments from the performers and the audience alike. Ah well so to the Christmas Bash on December 16th. Tickets aren't necessary, so do turn up and support it. Cheers Les |
