Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Zany Mouse Date: 05 Oct 06 - 02:10 PM Andy: Can I claim a camper space please? Thanks Rhiannon |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Fidjit Date: 05 Oct 06 - 11:42 AM No bunks left! Ah well indoor camping again. The lulabys from Nellie Deans will send me to sleep. Put me down for first refusal on a bunk though. Chas |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Splott Man Date: 05 Oct 06 - 04:09 AM A 200 pound trifle Mrs Duck? I'll get me bathers. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Andy Jackson Date: 04 Oct 06 - 05:12 PM Whoops!! I should have realised that statement would cause a rush on bunks. As per usual practice we are using last years bunks list as the priority booking and at the moment all spaces are taken. Dont panic, the Miskin Magic will shine over us I'm sure. Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Dave Earl Date: 04 Oct 06 - 03:36 PM Hope the shortage of a site for carryvans won't cause a crush in the Bunkhouse Andy. It's too early in the year for my old bones to be camping. Is it too early to claim a bunk? Dave |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: My guru always said Date: 04 Oct 06 - 03:30 PM I'm just glad there's a Miskin & if that means using a tent rather than a caravan, well I can do that. Hope you can sort something Andy, but don't beat yourself up over it. The right things will happen at the right time & Miskin is Right!! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Cllr Date: 04 Oct 06 - 03:21 PM We got a new waitrose it opened last friday in ampthill 8-) |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Snuffy Date: 04 Oct 06 - 03:19 PM Why not stick the campers on Tesco's Carpark? Or do you have a Waitrose now? |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Richard Bridge Date: 04 Oct 06 - 03:12 PM Let's hope that is not "We have a problem, Heuston"! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Andy Jackson Date: 04 Oct 06 - 02:58 PM Talking of campsites, which we are now...We may have a slight problem captain. After several happy years on the field up the road (400 yards, honest!)we will not be able to use it in future. I am of course looking around the area for somewhere else suitable so let us all live in hope. Meanwhile if anyone can recomend a supplier of folding campsites please let me know. See you at Banbury, I'll be the one drooling over the new campsite. Andy (Mutter mutter...if it's not one thing it's another , and if it's not that then it will be something else, dunno why I bother, who's idea was this anyway, I'm getting old before my time, and all that old tosh.) |

Plans formulating in my tiny mind already give cause for internal yippees or is the thought of more chocolate celery? Loads of lovely pictures on The Miskin site, as of last night. After Banbury I will be posting a few new names, I expect you can guess most of the guest list by now. Please don't bookmark this link it is just the piccies for now. Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Splott Man Date: 08 Sep 06 - 05:41 AM Now look! You're getting yourselves all worked up far too soo again. We've got Bromyard, Banbury, Bedworth, Cwlwm Celtaidd and Crediton first. Now just caaaalm doooown, relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax, take a deep breath and.... oh sod it! Miskin! Yippppeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: daughter Date: 07 Sep 06 - 03:27 PM I was gonna suggest a story walk again but we'd miss Cats for that if she's over the water! Boo and bum! If someone else could be persuaded that would be nice though - I'll be drinking again by then (HOORAH!) so some hot toddy type stuff on route would be good! If not a walk, p'raps a specific story round the campfire session would be groovy! xxxx |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Hawker Date: 07 Sep 06 - 08:47 AM There is a constant fire most of the weekend at the far end of the camp site, which some of us have been known to sit around and tell stories and sing songs! Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Morticia Date: 07 Sep 06 - 08:42 AM We wouldn't miss it for anything, Andy. I do have some suggestions but I will PM them.....I know you seldom get round to opening your e-mails! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: MBSLynne Date: 07 Sep 06 - 08:05 AM Greek Easter celebrations sound brilliant!! Can we do some Greek dancing too? Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Dave Earl Date: 07 Sep 06 - 07:43 AM Hey George spit roasted lamb sounds great. It's a Scouts site so open fires might well be allowed. Andy what say you? Dave |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Richard Bridge Date: 07 Sep 06 - 06:20 AM Has anyone else been twisting Andy's arm to try to persuade him to try to persuade Marian Button down? The thought of her voice in the cottage just sends shivers down my spine (in a good way). She also has the highest average body count per song of anyone I've ever heard, by a street. A cheerful song is one in which only a few people die slowly in pain and misery.... |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 07 Sep 06 - 06:06 AM We hope to be there too Andy. Can we have the same facility again please? Miskin is top of our 2007 list. Don & Winnie T. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: mandotim Date: 07 Sep 06 - 05:49 AM I've been meaning to get to Miskin for years; does the campsite have room for caravans (mine is quite large....ooer Missus!) Tim |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: George Papavgeris Date: 07 Sep 06 - 05:39 AM I'll be there. Moreover, it's a year when Orthodox & Catholic/CofE Easter coincide, so I am of half a mind to set up a trad Greek Easter celebration on the Sunday, with lamb roasting on a spit etc. Any interest? (And Andy, what's the take on having an open fire somewhere for it?) I have the spit, the motor to turn it and an extension; I'm sure we can find a half-drum and some coal somewhere; and there should be no problem finding a cute cuddly lamb somewhere in Wales. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Fidjit Date: 07 Sep 06 - 05:18 AM We came a long way to be there this year (2006). Thanks to Andys generosity, etc. What a great festival! Made lots of new friends and met up with old ones. Yes we would love to come next year. See you all there Chas |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: pixieofdoom Date: 07 Sep 06 - 04:36 AM I'll be there, hopefully with Phot (Her Majesty permitting) and possibly with Jack (ditto but for different reasons). Definitely the best festival of the year! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: vectis Date: 06 Sep 06 - 06:57 PM Liz and I will be there as Magwitch as usual. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Seaking Date: 06 Sep 06 - 03:27 PM Seconded Lynne |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: MBSLynne Date: 06 Sep 06 - 02:47 PM I like it just as it is Andy. Any more events and there would be too much choice and some things would have to be missed. Besides, we need time just to sit in the sunshine (!) and chat. Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Nigel Parsons Date: 06 Sep 06 - 02:44 PM Put me down! I know, I should have been put down years ago CHEERS Nigel |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 07 From: Andy Jackson Date: 06 Sep 06 - 02:36 PM Hello each.. thanks for the positive response so early. Actually it's early enough for suggestions for next year. Are the concert spots too short for example.( actually it's the days that are too short and the guest list that's too long!!) Following Mr Red's comment, how about an afternoon dance, outside if wet, in a tent if dry sort of thing? Would we consider a 10 minute walk to another venue for a dance. Hang on, that wouldn't be in the Miskin spirit would it!! Anyway I hope to get another of those lovely festival tents to pair up and make a bigger space. Hardly Chippenham, but fun.... I'm writing this with a now empty glass of rum and shrub before I set off for a night of mahem and music here on the IOW. Have fun peeps. Andy |
