Thank you every one for the kind comments the club was full and derek went down a storm. I should metion for those that are interested that the club room is a no smoking venue. Breezy Much to my surprise I see Dave and Anni are booked at Banbury Folk festival So I was really pleased as although I can't come and see them tonight at your club I will see them to tommorrow. I checked to see that the set Phot and I are doing didn't clash only to find out they are leading the session that were in "the big Sing" I am so excited Have a good one tonight and for those mudcatters going to Banbury see you in the raindeer to night

Breezy I ran uxbrige folk club for eight years and I booked kitty along time ago She also sang at my wedding! I met Les at Capital folk club in london back in the late eighties. Your current list of artists is very similar to what I used to book and I am really sorry that I cant make Dave and Anni on the 10 of October as I am booked at Banbury folk festival. I would love to see them please pass on my regards. Cllr

chicken and egg, who do you get first the artist or the audience?
If you have no artiste you get no audience.

Hamish and Lorna, you havent heard of them??
You havent been to Chesham then, nor Baldock, how about Malcolm Hobbs then?
Kitty Vernon and Les Sullivan ? they played to an intimate gathering at Uxbridge last Tuesday and gave a us a magical evening and les' songs have woven their way into many a singers repertoire without them realising it.Two of his songs were heard last night at the 'Shed' in Croxley green

Steve Tilston Tonight at the Comfort Hotel St Albans fri 3rd Oct

Good luck.

*snigger*, To be serious though I would like to book more artists but I have only limited funds and I want to see how the audience develops, Thanks for the kind words Bob perhaps we might see you one night Or two. Cllr

Good luck to the new club, let's hope it is successful as the old one that I remember from the days I lived in Bedford and was very active in the folk scene in the area (late 70's).
I have very fond memories of the Ampthill club, if only as it was the first club that booked 'Kinsfolk' the trio I was then in with Roy and Louise Martin. Does anyone remember the large concert club that I helped Roy and Louise run in Kempston?

Anyway, good luck to the club and all involved, I knew it wouldn't take Cllr too long to get involved in a new venture!
