The time has come, once again, to update the Lurkers' Register for 2009.

The Register has been running for several years now and it may be that people who added their names at the beginning feel that there is no need to do any more. I feel sure that 'Catters would like to know if those people are still around. For that reason I have started a new thread here - Lurkers' Register 2009 - and I invite all lurkers, both new and old, to add their names there.

Well.Still alive. Moved to Orkney (Live in the Hope) Don't get to look at the 'cat too much, but drop in from time to time for a look round and see the threads. Read a few of them. Don't post a lot.
But "Hi" and a very happy new year to all my old friends, near and far. I hope 2008 is good for you all.

I stop by almost every evening. Scroll through the topics, click on any that perk my interest, and occasionally I have something to say. Not real often. I've learned a lot here, and you guys have been here to answer questions for me many times. Thanks for being here. Proud to be part of such a group.

You never know when a favorite MudBud may cruise in to look at PMs, either, and reply to them. Sometimes I run out of things to say in the threads; but for me, the longer I am a Mudcatter, the more it's about the PMs.

I'm not sure that 'Lurker' is the correct noun to use!

Mudcat is an amazing resource, a friend, and a virtual Aladdin's Cave.

There are many doors and many different ways to get inside.

When you arrive inside you wander from room to room...often forgetting why you came in in the first place and wander out again finding that rather a long time has passed!

Just when you thought you had mined the site dry another gem is revealed which leads to another labyrinth of interest, fascination and erudition :0)

I'm not sure this wandering through a cornucopia is best described as 'Lurking'?

Sure, we drop a comment or two here and there... sometimes we look at the guest list at the top of a thread and pass quickly on....!

Other times we read the guest list and know we are in for a treat!

So...whatever it is....I do......!

Time to update the Lurkers' Register for 2008, where people who have nothing particular to say can let others know they are still here.

Just to re-state from my first post……….

All that is required for a member who is logged on, is to open the thread and hit the submit button, or to add a name first, if coming in as a Guest. Any additional messages are optional.

If you are a lurker and would like others to know your still around, then why not tack on your name to this thread to form the 2008 LURKERS' REGISTER.

Sorry I haven't looked in on this thread for a while.

A Log Out should do. Note that the usual result of Logging Out is to delete the cookie for the site. When you log back in, you'll get a new cookie.

I've been pretty inactive of late, during my temporary career as a hurricane evacuee.

When I do check into Mudcat to catch up, I usually find it impossible to resist the temptation to add a comment or two ~ maybe just in one or two threads.

So, I am not normally a "lurker," and have generally been truly absent during those periods when I don't create any postings. Of course, if I pop in for a half-hour or so after a monthlong absense, not everyone will notice that I may have posted a brief comment or two, hidden away within one or two obscure threads...

I rarely have time to do anything but lurk anymore, and I do even that only rarely. When I'm reading quite a bit, though, I tend to post something, just because lurking gives me an icky, reading-someone-else's-diary type feeling. So I guess I'm a Lurker, in a half-assed sort of way.
