Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Fidjit Date: 03 Mar 06 - 10:30 AM Anyone got a phone number or e-mail for these pubs? Can't find them on the visit britain site. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 03 Mar 06 - 09:00 AM just read PMs.I dont look at these very often as emails are easier to keep a record of... Blck Prince details...... Please mention Miskin at Easter they did offer a small discount some years ago so you never know. Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Fidjit Date: 03 Mar 06 - 07:00 AM Have you looked at you pm Andy? Got a number for the Black Prince? |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 03 Mar 06 - 05:52 AM Black Prince.. methinks, very helpful there. ok for walk from Club wednesday night but a fair jaunt from Miskin. Windsor hotel looks favorite. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Splott Man Date: 03 Mar 06 - 03:56 AM Scooby Doo - behave!! The Windsor Hotel, Pontyclun will do B&B, that's about a mile away. There's a hotel whose name escapes me at Tya Garw, that's an extra half mile but it is handy for the superb Boar's head PH. The Cross Inn at Cross Inn does B&B too, that's about a mile and a half. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: treewind Date: 03 Mar 06 - 03:02 AM There were £26 rooms at the nearby Cardiff M4 Travelodge, could be cheaper than a B&B (except it's only the 1st B without the 2nd). Don't know if there are any left now: we booked one for 3 nights. Anahata |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 02 Mar 06 - 06:40 PM B & Bs are few and far between in our neck of the woods. But bearing in mind we are talking communal indoor camping over the weekend I have quite a bit of floor space in my house only very short walk from club. It will be full of festival stuff and VERY untidy but it beats sleeping in the rain. I will look into the B7 B situation as well so I'm not too crowded |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Scooby Doo Date: 02 Mar 06 - 05:09 PM You can sleep on my bed if you like. Scooby. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Fidjit Date: 02 Mar 06 - 03:52 PM Might get an answer here (Andy and co.) I'm coming to Miskin a couple of days early. Where's an ok B&B. Thought I'd visit Llantrisant Folk Club too. |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: GUEST,The Barden of England at work Date: 28 Feb 06 - 09:00 AM I am dragging myself away from my usual jaunt to Fareham this year as 'Capella' have said that my significant other half and I would love it, and seeing as we are now bona-fide 'caravan' owners the idea of camping at Easter no longer bothers - we have heating and all that. We are braving the M25 and M4 mind you! Andy - form and money will be in the post by Thursday and am making good the promise to come down I made 2 or 3 Fylde Festivals back. John Barden |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: GUEST Date: 27 Feb 06 - 04:07 AM The current world record holder for long distance Morris is our own Jim Bartlett of Bridgend, who is the fool for Cardiff Morris, and a very fine songwriter to boot. I believe he set the current record in the late 70s, and a very young Ben Dauncey accompanied him for some of the way, his father being Jim's musician for the duration. See you all at Miskin. Splott Man |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Selchie - (RH) Date: 26 Feb 06 - 02:55 PM I'll be involved with promotion in my patch for Next Foot Up with local Morris sides I know. Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 26 Feb 06 - 08:26 AM Right then.. This years charity will be a splendid event re-enacting Kemps Jig. Between 15th and 21st April 2006 Ben Dauncey will Attempt to Dance from Tunbridge Wells to Worcester, a distance of over 210 miles to establish a new world record for Morris Dancing and to raise £100,000 for two national charities. Multiple Sclerosis and Make a Wish MS is unfortunately all too common and most people will know someone affected by it. Make a Wish are an amazing bunch whose simple aim is the "Granting wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life-threatening diseases" pop over to http://www.nextfootup.com/ for more details. Two very appropriate causes for us to help with over Easter. My Guru will be bullying you for help with this...you have been warned. See you all soon. Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Dave Earl Date: 26 Feb 06 - 07:16 AM "Chocolate would be good as prizes". When you're feeling down the best way is chocolate, It's the answer that will get you through the day, OK Hils! Will try to remember to bring something suitable. If herself has anything to do with it it will be something by Greene and Black. Dave |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: My guru always said Date: 26 Feb 06 - 07:02 AM Have offered to organise a Raffle again this year, perhaps with the aid of MudCatters again? Any offers? Proceeds will be to Andy's chosen Charity (when he tracks it down) and Chocolate would be good as prizes, don't you think? |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Cats Date: 26 Feb 06 - 06:39 AM I'll help to lay the ghosts. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Polly Squeezebox Date: 25 Feb 06 - 04:11 PM Andy, thanks for the PM. Geoff P - something wrong with your geography - you need to head UP and west from Wareham. Jack and I will look forward to seeing you, Lin and small economy? (expensive!) size. Everyone else - I've got two years to catch up on - missed last year completely and previous year spent the whole weekend in camper before being rushed into hospital and having five months off work. I've got some ghosts to lay - so I'll apologise in advance for any anti-social (over indulgent - hic) behaviour!!! Polly |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Cats Date: 25 Feb 06 - 02:59 PM I'll look after you Geoff, but not until very late on Saturday night when Jon and I arrive. Keep us a spot for our camper, Andy. |
