BTW- Is it possible to beg or borrow a 5-string banjo anywhere in England? Travelling with mine is risky and a nuisance, and I draw the line at stealing.

In June, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting some lovely and terribly hospitable British Mudcatters (Micca and his wonderful Audrey, Liz the Squeak and her partner, Oaul and daughter Phoebe, Ralph--aka Popular Halfwit--and his lovely wife Sally) and wished I could have met more (Jon Freeman; next time: North Wales or bust!)

When you get to Whitby festival look out for Mudcat Badges - produced by (badger and tig. There are likely to be a fair few mudcatters about. We usually spend a lot of time in the informal "fringe" of the festival. We particularly recommend the Tap & Spile (near the Train and Bus Stations) for good beer and company. Keep an eye out for us - watch out for a small yellow "rubber" duck in a tankard - I am usually nearby! We are also intending to host a barbecue during the week, and details will be found at the Tap & Spile. You would be most welcome. Quack! Geoff the Duck

I'll be at Whitby, and look forward to seeing Dick and Susan. (There's the daily newsletter to keep people in touch with any late developments. And there's bound to be a few computers around somewhere, so a thread on the Mudcat itself could be a good way of keeping in touch.)

I can't provide accommodation in Harlow - but can advise about anything that is happening around here There should be a few sessions and suchlike. (Though festivals and holidays tend to deplete numbers - and Broadstairs is on 11th-18th, the week after Sidmouth.)

I'm up for that - although most of the London and Herts mob will be at Towersey, will they not? But I'm up for anything (as, unfortunately, my various wives will testify) - just keep us posted.
It'll be quite a moment - meeting the man responsible for me spending more time looking at a screen than is good for a chap!

Anyone actually IN London we will try and organise a get together somewhere on the Saturday eve, this goes for you too Gervase.....PM me and I will try and Thrash out details...I would suggest that you visit with the Hertfordshire Mob on the way north to Bill, it would make a pleasent break from Motorway driving..

Hi y'all-

Susan of DT and I are going to be in England August 11 to 28. We'd like to meet as many Mudcatters as we can. We'll be at Whitby Week, but we're trying to work out a schedule for the preceding week and the couple of days after.
