Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 27 Oct 01 - 02:12 PM Mudge, Bat and Micca ought to be at the airport about now. I went back to join them and SINSULL for coffee and quiche. I should warn the DC folks that Micca may be a bit depressed when he gets there. It seems he fell madly in love while he was here, and the parting was difficult. He was weeping sad tears into her fluffy pink feathers, and kissed her passionately on the beak before taking his leave - perhaps never to see her again. Be kind to him. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Big Mick Date: 27 Oct 01 - 08:09 AM I insult him to show him that I care about him........if this must be explained, then you won't get it........LOL. I have never enjoyed someone's company more, but then again, I didna hae ta travel with the wee man. Mary, m'love, you are a Saint. Your reward awaits thee. Mick |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 27 Oct 01 - 12:40 AM Right, Bert. We're just trying to make him feel at home. Left him and SINS at Bat & Mudge's house a short while ago. I chased a stupid deer down the road about a half mile from my house. The poor thing looked at the car, and about 10 seconds later must have thought, "uh-oh - better run," so it did - right down the middle of the road. We had a fine night, and I think we all enjoyed his company and his songs. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bert Date: 26 Oct 01 - 08:53 PM We are all insulting him because insults are part of his cultural heritage. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 26 Oct 01 - 05:51 PM I don't know why you are all insulting poor Micca- I had a perfectly marvelous visit! If it wasn't for my laryngitis I would have matched his chatter and beaten it! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Charley Noble Date: 26 Oct 01 - 04:54 PM Hey, Jeri and Bat Goddess, we're offering you one of our best voices for abuse. If you want more of us to sing with, truck up to the Maine Maritime Museum Saturday evening. Best come armed, because we certainly will be! Sing Micca a couple of verses of "Wake Up, Susianna" for me, will ya. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Fortunato Date: 26 Oct 01 - 02:31 PM BillD. 7:00pm I think Bill all things, being equal. Join us. You aren't delivering the tape from Don Nichols are you? chance |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:25 PM Hey Jeri -- check your e-mail. Or give me a call, or whatever. (Or both) BTW, Charley, I second what Jeri said about delicate little flowers . . . Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bill D Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:24 PM When is it at the Royal Mile (USA version) Sat, Chance? I have a little package to deliver before we send hisself back home. (I will be coming from N. Virginia after doing a craft show until 5ish) {Micca knows about this...whether he can REMEMBER after his whirlwind tour is anybody's guess} |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:22 PM I know Dick, Dick knows me...just takes a little while for the light in the attic to go on. Duh. Animaterra, hope you're feeling better soon. (I came down with a stupid cold about 3 1/2 weeks ago that is STILL hanging on! Hope you have something different.) |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:15 PM copious tears And I won't be there after all- for Micca and Mary's whole visit I've been laid low with a nasty cold that's lodged in my throat, and I have laryngitis and a headache and- they've gone and left me to sorrow and mourn. Have a great time, all, and give the little bugger lots of hugs from me. I'm going to bed *sniff*. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: MMario Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:09 PM If Jeri's first two clues aren't enough - add the voice - 'cause she's got one incredible voice. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 26 Oct 01 - 01:04 PM Dick D, please make sure you say "hi" to us. I'm the one with the hair and the fiddle. Geez, you Maine folks sure are delicate little flowers! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Charley Noble Date: 26 Oct 01 - 12:55 PM Love to come but I've got to protect enough of my vocal chords to be a pirate on Saturday. Say, why don't you bring the whole crew up to Bath on Saturday evening to join the party? Brett may go to The Press Room anyway, although he's promised not to sing anything, and Dick is definitely planning to attend your gathering and you should encourage him to sing because he's not performing with us at the Pirate Halloween Party. Have a great time.:-( |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: GUEST Date: 26 Oct 01 - 12:50 PM I shall be there for the first time ever. Dick D. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 26 Oct 01 - 12:46 PM Hey! Who's all coming to The Press Room this late afternoon/evening? Just got a call that Animaterra has been felled by the bug her daughter has and won't be able to make it, but Sinsull and Micca should (if the directions Tom just gave her were good, and they usually are) be there early. Barry, I think you said you'd be there. Naemanson and Charley? We've got to sing loud enough for Animaterra to hear, but not too loud to disturb her. (She's disturbed enough already ;-) Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Fortunato Date: 26 Oct 01 - 08:59 AM Bat Goddess, please tell his Lordship that his faithful retainers here in Silver Spring stand in need of flight/airport information. Have a great time at your singaround. Micca. JudyO will be joining us for dinner at the Mile and anyone else you care to invite. Bob Hitchcock my partner in crime may make it as well. We can come back to the manse for music after. The front yard is filled with the red maple leaves you like so well. It's like a red carpet. Have fun, Chance |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 26 Oct 01 - 08:48 AM Gee, Micca, I think peak foliage was LAST week -- but at least we haven't had high winds or rain to destroy what's left. (I've been trying to convince the color to stay in the leaves and the leaves to stay on the trees at least through your visit!) See you tonight! (Hope everybody can get to The Press Room more or less early -- 5-ish, perhaps?) Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: MMario Date: 26 Oct 01 - 08:37 AM Bill - it's kinda like a bachelor playing with someone else's kids. You enjoy it, as long as it is temporary! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: bill\sables Date: 26 Oct 01 - 07:43 AM You all seem to like him so much is there any chance of getting him a green card and keeping the bugger over there. It will give us, in the UK, a rest for a while. Bill |

I do not really have words to thank them anything I have thought of seems trite and inadequate so all I can say is Thanks everyonefor showing such warmth and Kindness to an MOG visiting. |

From: Tinker Date: 25 Oct 01 - 08:20 PM Liz, I only missed the unvieling of the scar, because I didn't come in til after showers on Saturday morning....but I did miss the accompanying stories. Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: GUEST,Tinker Date: 25 Oct 01 - 02:10 PM Sinsull, I tried to post a Happy Birthday ! last night, but couldn't get in no matter what door I tried. By the time you get home there should be a small present on your door step. I found a CD on the Camsco table that seemed the perfect reflection of a birthday with Micca. Elsa Lanchester Sings Bawdy Cockney Songs--- after reading this thread, you might want to start with "Never Go Walking (Driving???) Without Your Hat Pin". Micca you were a treat, even if your dinner conversation could stand some refining. Birthin' babies and amputated feet aren't usually considered postprandial libations. Be good up north.... You're in my prayers Sinsull Tinker |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: annamill Date: 25 Oct 01 - 01:54 PM I MISS YOU GUYS!!! Tell Micca I Love him and he is welcome back to my abode any time. I didn't have enough time with all of you!! Damn work anyway!! SINSULL, you know you are certainly welcome as is my Bert. Just wait til summer and my pool opens... is it spring yet?? Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Mrs.Duck Date: 25 Oct 01 - 01:08 PM Are chocolate bourbon balls anything like Malteasers??? Strangely Micca never seems to talk that much when I'm there - why is that do you think? |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:57 PM 6 pm? Thanks for the alert! The fridge is stocked with hard cider and the weather's promising to turn from balmy Indian Summer to bitterly cold at just about that time. Hmmm, could it be an omen? Batten down, Portsmouth, we'll be there tomorrow! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:51 PM SINS, I spent the first few HOURS of the drive back from the Getaway listening to Jed. Then Rick. Then A.L. Lloyd. He wasn't at the Getaway, but it seems I'd put a lot of mellow music in the car and didn't feel like lulabies would go well with my sleep deprivation. "Funny, without a car I rarely drive." It do make it difficult, don't it? Looking forward to Friday! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Diva Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:44 PM Very peaceful wasn't it Mudguard!!!!!and they looked so sweet too. Mind you nobody slept through Liz singing Zadok the Priest....rather good it were. Sins I think you must be due some sort of medal for your efforts...I'm just trying to work out what it should be!!!! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 25 Oct 01 - 11:19 AM We are about to get on the road AGAIN! Funny, without a car I rarely drive. I have quite literally done more driving in the past week than in the past two years. Very happy though - good company, wonderful music, happy times. Jed Marum's CD is on the CD (Maggie...SIGH)player and Kendall's tape is ready for the car. Let Animaterra know that we will be there about 6PM. I have spent a fair number of hours with Mudcat men and come away totally relaxed (no, not that kind of relaxed) and ready to take on the world. After three days with Micca I am ready for a week with one of our quieter Mudcat men. Liz and Morticia - you have my sympathy and respect. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 25 Oct 01 - 10:03 AM Gee, Sins, do you feel as if you're spending all of your time in a car? And watch the bourbon balls on your drive to New Hampshire today -- would hate to have the local constabulary pull you over and find crumbs on your breath! Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Gervase Date: 25 Oct 01 - 07:55 AM Easy on yerself, Morticia! I'm related (albeit distantly) to various primates, some of them very messy eaters, but I don't let it get me down too much. Look on it this way, some people have skeletons in their cupboards - those related to Micca have whole bloody ossuaries! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Morticia Date: 25 Oct 01 - 07:44 AM How do you think I feel,Sins? I'm actually related to the little buggar! |

Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: JedMarum Date: 24 Oct 01 - 05:37 PM After a long quiet peaceful drive to the FSGW gathering site, with a couple of old friends, and arriving late in the afternoon of a pretty Fall day - I was struck hard across the head with this outrageous fireball who calls himself, micca! He greeted us as we arrived at our cabin. I thought, "what did I get myself into??" To make matters worse, it turned out that this guy was my roommate! LOL micca threatened early on to sing us a few of his raunchy rugby songs, flash a few unsuspecting guests with the items hidden loosely beneath his kilt and turn us all on to some of his private stash of refined spirits ... so far as I know he made good on all those threats! micca turned out to be the 'treat of the weekend' - a free spirit with a love of life and song. Great to meet you micca! May you stay one step ahead if the INS! ;-) |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Oct 01 - 05:19 PM Well, I just talked to the Bugger himself and (no surprise) he's having a high old time. New York is still trying to dig out from one disaster and now ........ Micca. When he returns to you across the pond, try to block in several days of time for him to talk about what all he's done and people he's met.......maybe a week or more. Sinsull said he's seems to be recharging at the moment for the New Hampshire onslaught......Allison my dear, I don't know what to tell you..........I'll light a candle. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:38 PM Cas? Are you suggesting that I have him sunbathe without the kilt? He treated us all to the "altogether" at the Getaway. Not sure my neighbors are up to it. Although it might distract them from the Anthrax scare... |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Cas Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:33 PM Just dont let him sunbathe in a kilt! Its bad for the neighbourhood..lowers property values and depraves miners.. and pit ponies too. ask the squeak about the savlon! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:16 PM Well, Mary, we'll have a proper birthday bash New Hampshire style when you get here! Thanks for being Micca's northern transport! We're all looking forward to learning the truth about this cider-guzzling gregarious, chatty, hug-o-matic with all the cool songs! |
