Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: jacqui.c Date: 25 Dec 10 - 04:46 AM Heavyweight burst of energy being sent to Ohio, for all the Pattersons. This is a very happy household this morning so, hopefully, the energy will be well charged. Keeping a close watch on this thread. Unless Spaw wants a visit from members of the Evil Sisterhood he had better get his act together and get his arse out the hospital in short time. |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: BlueJay Date: 24 Dec 10 - 10:04 PM Thanks,Kat. I'm usually lurking, and this really upsets me. I feel like Spaw is an old friend. I only know Karen from what Spaw and all of you have said. She sounds like a SAINT! C-diff, (clostridium difficile) is a bacteria that is normally present in the gut, but sometimes they overpopulate when competing bacteria are wiped out with antibiotics. symptoms range from mild to lethal, and can be treated successfully if caught in time. It is indeed very good Spaw's test for c-diff was negative. Thanks, BlueJay |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts UPDATE From: SINSULL Date: 24 Dec 10 - 09:18 PM What the hell have they been feeding him, kat? Poor Karen. Poor Spaw. Miss Kitty, we are all grateful for your updates. It is important that Karen be able to filter reports through just one person rather than answering or being forced to ignore multiple emails, calls, etc. Keep yourself well and safe and your family too. Spaw has gotten through worse. One day at a time. Merry Christmas, Pattersons, and the La France's too. SINS |

Subject: UPDATE From: katlaughing Date: 24 Dec 10 - 08:26 PM Oh you good people, this is hard...Pat is having a tough time. I just talked with Karen. The fever is back up. He is on BiPap to keep stress off of his heart. He's having a lot of diarrhoea, but did test negative for c-diff(sp?), which I think is some kind of bacteria and it is good that he tested negative. They are going to do another blood culture, tomorrow, as well as a CAT scan of his belly. One of the people Karen spoke to told her there is "something cookin' in there, they just don't know what." He is on a lot of morphine. Karen has always, always been upbeat and positive. She knows him so well. I asked if she is frightened and she said yes. She is also tired. She and the boys are at Connie's and Wayne's for Christmas nad will go see Pat, tomorrow. Then, on Sunday, she is going to take a day of rest and stay home. She may also come visit Mudcat. I told her not to worry about it. He's got the whole world holding him and we'd do the same for her. Let's let that Light shine in whatever way we know/believe or not and see him through this! Karen, you are everything Spaw has said and more. With much love and gratitude, kat |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: mouldy Date: 24 Dec 10 - 04:03 AM A sweet little rhyme... "A burp is just a little wind That comes right from the heart. But when it takes a downword turn, It comes out as a fart." Old as the hills, and what every kid learns at school. "Where e'er thee be, let thy wind go free, for to hold it in be the death of 'ee. Church or chapel - let it rattle!" (My gastro-enterologist brother in law says there's a lot of good advice in that last one. Burbled something about diverticular disease....) C'mon Spaw - I've run out of fart encouragements. Andrea xx |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: Rapparee Date: 23 Dec 10 - 11:17 PM I was guessing that also. Unfortunately, it's all too common and difficult to cure. (Unlike C. Difficile, which responds to fecal transplants.) |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: GUEST Date: 23 Dec 10 - 11:11 PM more good thoughts from away down here stop hassling the nurses and get home 'Spaw!! slainte alison PS - guessing the bug is MRSA - Medication resistant staph aureus - really common in hospitals these days unfortunately |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: Janie Date: 23 Dec 10 - 10:33 PM Hey, how about organizing a flash mob to celebrate? Let's take a head count. How many can fart on cue? |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 23 Dec 10 - 08:47 PM I posted this sometime back on the News of Note thread, home of quirky articles ================== Patently odd: thunder-stealing grundies and ... Australia is home to many quirky inventions, and they're worth $12 billion a year to the economy. It's those SBDs - silent but deadlies - that give us away. But the telltale smell of a secret gas alert could be a thing of the past thanks to a unique Australian innovation that has just hit the shelves. The designer of 4SKINS, Gilbert Huynh, says although odour-neutralising fabric has been used in sportswear for years, his range of men's undies is the first time the material has been used in intimate apparel. "Everyone has experienced those awkward situations and I thought that it would be great if you could let one off and no one could smell it," Huynh says. After extensive trials - with friends and family - Huynh launched 4SKINS this month and says interest in the innovation has been beyond expectation. "I'm amazed at the number of women who are buying them for their boyfriends or husbands," he says. "We have actually had more women buyers than men." |

Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: gnu Date: 23 Dec 10 - 05:17 PM "Close to You"? Spaw would never do such. How could you even say something so vile? I am aghast, nay, worse. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: Lonesome EJ Date: 23 Dec 10 - 04:57 PM Good pictures, Bill. Again, I'm struck by Pat's uncanny resemblance to Paul Williams. I wonder if Spaw's version of Close to You would compare to the original? |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: maeve Date: 23 Dec 10 - 04:16 PM Yes, gnu. I left it understated, yet still a tribute to the brilliant off-gassing of Mudcat's clever humorists...and their inspiration, Spaw. |
Subject: RE: BS: Catspaw needs lots of good thoughts etc. From: gnu Date: 23 Dec 10 - 04:05 PM There's a joke in that "clouds are rising" but I think it's best left alone. Well said m. |
