Indeed, I am looking forward to a huge treat in just a few hours time! I shall be at Bideford tonight - I'd better be, cos I'm MC for the evening.

I've not been on Mudcat for a while - so special thanks to Jim for starting the thread to give this evenings performance some added publicity. (Rather belatedly I can tell you that it's at 8.00pm at the Joiners Arms, Bideford, North Devon)

Sue

I am working on arranging an E. Coast USA tour for The Claque in Oct-Nov this year. I'm in touch with several places already, but any interested parties not yet contacted please feel free to pm me or email reharris@ntlworld.com. Burl/roy harris

Have a look at details of their Wildgoose CD Sounding Now. There are links to sound samples.

The Claque are leading an all-day ballad forum for the Lewes Saturday Folk Club on Saturday 9th. April and are performing at the club in the evening. Full details and a booking form are on this thread. Bideford is in for a treat.

I've noticed threads about these people before, but who are they?
Is there some underground cult?

Too far to get there from London - but all best wishes to Barry, Tom, Sean and Dave and club members, for a great evening, which I know you'll have!

Kitty

I like them a lot. At times I think they could be a bit more aggressive but interpretation is so much a matter of taste.

What a treat. Traditional singing at its best!

A rare chance to see this superb group at Bideford Folk Club on Thursday 3rd.
Someone needs to persuade them to get out more-I have never heard a more exciting traditional group and they are extremely funny and natural on stage to go with it.
Highly recommended.
