Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: Little Hawk Date: 28 Sep 11 - 06:00 PM I was at the big celebration the day after David's wedding. It was a pig roast. The only uhappy camper there was the pig. There was lots of great live music played on the spot by various of us folks, lots of good food and merry company, and I'd say about 200 attendees were there. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: GUEST,999 Date: 28 Sep 11 - 05:47 PM OM, some of us care very much about David. As LH said, he has a sense of humour. We have all made our wishes for his happiness known, and if we didn't like him, we likely wouldn't even be posting on the thread. You may not understand what passes for humour in this part of Canada, but no disrespect is intended towards either him or his bride. FWIW |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: gnu Date: 28 Sep 11 - 05:18 PM om... just keepin the thread alive until Raptor checks in. It's the Canuck way of showing we care. Or we are actually ignorant assholes what got nuthin better ta do eh? Either way, as Canucks we do or don't care. Take yer pick. Either way, we're cool. (It's all in fun... seriously... LH is right. Hope we didn't offend TOOO badly.) |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: Little Hawk Date: 28 Sep 11 - 04:50 PM You're right, open mike...but Raptor has a wild flippin' sense of humour. Trust me. I know the guy. He's probably enjoying the silly stuff we're posting here. Still...maybe we should just start another thread. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: Little Hawk Date: 28 Sep 11 - 04:46 PM The McBride family came over "on the boat" during the hard years of the Irish Potato Famine and have never looked back (well, maybe once or twice...) since. If they had looked back, they'd have seen an angry mob of creditors and disgruntled neighbours that they "borrowed" things from, plus probably a few Irish police officers. The McBrides haled from the region around the Dingle Peninsula. They were famous in the area as drunkards, layabouts, and petty thieves blessed with an almost superhuman ability to avoid paying work and sidestep most forms of social responsibility. Due to the perenially roving eye and virtual unmarriageability of most of the McBride men, they fathered a very large number of children out of wedlock, so Shane has many relatives still living around the area of Dingle, most of whom are eager to deny any form of connection with him or his forbears and family name. Having arrived in the new lands of North America in 1850 and settling in Nova Scotia, Shane's great grandfather decided to turn over a new leaf and started growing marijuana and selling it to the locals. At first this was a very small business which attracted little attention, so Shane's great grandfather was forced, much to his chagrin and shame, to accept normal work as a casual labourer, while abetting his meagre income with stolen horses, carriages, and light machinery. This led to an increasingly acrimonious relationship with the RCMP and the local police in Nova Scotia, eventually causing the McBride family to relocate to Blind River, Ontario. Shane's father, Sam McBride, started up a small marijuana grow-op in Blind River and eked out a precarious living by fencing stolen goods and forging checks. Then the 60s came and all of a sudden Marijuana blossomed from being a minor cult phenomenon of a few jazz musicians to becoming a mainstream recreational drug embraced by an entire young generation! The life of the McBride family was transformed. They could now afford takeout pizza at least 3 times a week, and the fridge was always full of Canadian beer. These were "the salad days". It all went swimmingly until Shane's father fell asleep on the railroad tracks after an epic drinking session and got run over by a westbound train. They had to bury him in fifteen different pieces. The family was devastated. But nothing can keep a McBride down forever. Shane and his brother Don swore on their father's grave (as well as pretty much everyplace else they went) that they would restore the "fambly fortune". This might sound difficult, but one should keep in mind that that would only require raising about $320. Within a year Shane and Don had built the marijuana business back up to the levels attained by their dad, and things were "lookin' good, eh?" Then the cops ruined it all by busting the brothers and shutting down their grow-op! This led to a bitter vendetta between the McBride brothers and the police force which has persisted to this day, each determined to outlast the other and achieve final victory. And there you have it. The glorious history of a proud Irish-Canadian family who have never forgotten their roots, never given up on their ideals, and never refused the challenges life has offered them. Shane and Don McBride can be found today living in Blind River, often hanging out at the local Tim Hortons or the Iron Horse Tavern. They will sign autographs for free cigarettes or beer. They will accept friendly offers from single (or married) women with no strings attached. A book and movie deal is rumoured to be in the works as I speak, and the brothers will play themselves. Famed Hockey commentator Don Cherry will appear in a cameo role, as will a local police officer, the lovely Jennifer Dana. It's gonna be AWESOME! |

Like I always say, no tits, no tranny. I lost her number and I promised I would call her. I'll bet she's pissed. Anyway, I wouldn't have anything to do with her other than keeping in touch. Not on accounta the critters with more than two legs... if she'd fuck a McBrrride, well... there it is eh? Ewwwwwwww. |
Subject: RE: BS: I'm getting married tomorrow. From: GUEST,999 Date: 28 Sep 11 - 03:48 PM I have been to Blind River and I have to tell y'all it's a beautiful town. The McBride family--two of whom post here--are not typical of the place. They are what one refers to in polite company as exceptions. In fact, the two who post here are not typical of this planet. That said, I understand at present Shane has fleas and his brother has crabs. I have given their names to The Temperance League which is run by some very refined ladies of the evening and a transvestite named Suzette who says she is the one who gave Shane's brother the little critters. There's never a dull moment in BR which is approximately mid-way between Sudbury and the Soo. It should become a national soap opera, but both boys have an image problem that would only be acceptable to certain cable channels and film companies with mottoes like "We'll put the X back in your life" or "We get it right the first time and if you don't like it, call your mother." God Bless Ontario |

Not that I was untoward in any way when ibibing a drop o the pure, it's just that them other bastards pissed me off and they had NO FUCKIN REASON TO DO SO as I was as gentle as a lamb before they did that. You have gone too far this time, you moronic, brainless, flea-ridden, odoriffic cocksucker. You have stepped over the line. You have ceased to amuse. You have crossed the boundary from mere oafish bad taste and pointless bull-headed interference into unforgivable slights and offenses. I am going to come down to Ohio with some of my buddies and kick your moribund ass right across town, tar and feather you, tie you to a rail, set the whole damn works on fire, and drop it over the side of the Grand Canyon. Make sure all your affairs are in order by October 15th. I'm giving you some advance notice on this, cos I'm basically a nice guy. |

NowI know some will be screaming at the screen by now but to them i say forget it is the dreaded C word and read the words. To the newlyweds May you be blessed with the quiet contentment of a job well done at the end of the day May you always be granted a deep breath before an angry thought becomes a word May a look from your spouce across a busy day both calm anxieties and bring a spark to your heart May you always buy each other little things not for any other reason than you thought of each other And may you grow so close in your journey that you can finish each others sentances.
