If memory serves, most (if not all) of the excellent Round The Horne can be found on the old YT. I seem to remember I got a fair way through them from start at one point, their original broadcast having been well before my "Start By" date! ;-)

Same is true for very many radio progs. The Goon Show is largely available from series 3 or 4 (there are no recordings of earlier ones, alas). The Navy Lark is another one that is definitely also available. You've only got to look, folks! Oh, and if you do look, you'll also usually find (wiki more often than not) that there's a list of episodes available so that you can follow them in sequence.

The internet does have its uses occasionally! ;-)

Brown Horrocks is not about music, Joe. But Rambling Syd usually sings a cod Folk song. The text thereof often containing words like scrote, lummocks or cordwangle - v British 1950/60s humour, outrageous in the context of its day, yet perfect mild, on the page.

It's the way he tells 'em, you see.

I think the dialogue went something like:

(Chap on phone): "I've got Brown-Horrocks on my extension..."

"Really? Sorry to hear that. Slap a poultice on it and it'll wash off in the morning..."

Julian and Sandy as I recall!

I take it this is not about music, so I've moved it to the non-music section.

Not that I have any idea what Brown Horrocks is.

And sorry, if you're not a member, you can't post in the non-music section.

The program is on BBC 4 Extra on Thursdays at the moment and the whole thing is hilarious, just as it was when I was a snotty nosed teenager.
How the hell they got away with some of it still amazes me.
It puts to shame some of the so called radio comedy they broadcast now.

Yours sincerely
J. Peasmould Gruntfuttock.

Kenneth Williams was a hoot. Incidentally, the spelling is Syd.

For anyone interested in the above Colonel and his erstwhile companions, Round the Horne featured the first appearance of that wonderful bard Rambling Sid Rumpo.
I urge you to listen and be amazed!!
