Subject: Origins: Why Do Girls Wear Britches? From: GUEST,Anita Snyder Date: 01 Sep 21 - 12:31 AM My mother was talking tonight about a song that she believes is called Why do Girls wear Britches? She is convinced that it was sung by Roy Acuff or someone else from the early days of recording. She remembers her mother having it on "an old, thick, fuzzy sounding record" that she played on the Victrola that had to be wound up. I have found information on a song by that title from 1946 by artist Karl and Harty and a recording by Cousin Fuzzy & the Doughboys. She said that was not the correct song when I played it for her. Please help us as it is causing a lot of frustration on her part to not be able to recall more information about the song. |
